Nestlé Purina
In December 2015, Nestlé Purina opened its second plant of pet food at Silao, Guanajuato. This new facility involves a 220 million dollar investment and the generation of 200 direct jobs and 1,000 indirect jobs.

This plant will set an important export center to Central America, producing for the Pro-Plan, Dog Chow, Cat Chow and Beneful brands.

In 2015, the American company Cargill opened an expansion of its pet food plant at Tehuacan, Puebla, requiring an investment of 7.8 million dollars.

In August 2016, the company informed that it invested 700 million pesos for a new canning line and a distribution center at Guadalajara, Jalisco. The infrastructure incorporates state of the art technology in its automation systems, has a production capacity of 2,000 cans per minute and the ability to create 43 different presentations.
